About Dr. Patrick Cohn

Leader in Mental Performance Coaching and Certification

Dr. Patrick J. Cohn is a global authority in mental performance coaching. He is the President and Founder of Peak Performance Sports in Orlando, Florida. For over 30 years, he has helped athletes, coaches, and teams build mental toughness and achieve their potential.

Dr. Cohn holds a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Applied Sport Psychology from the University of Virginia. His pioneering research on “the zone” and preshot routines established him as a leading expert in sports psychology.

He has worked with elite athletes and organizations, including the Miami Dolphins, PGA Tour champions, and top competitors in baseball, hockey, tennis, and motocross. His mental training programs help athletes break through barriers and perform under pressure.

In 2004, Dr. Cohn created the first-ever Mental Game Coaching Professional (MGCP) certification. His program set a new standard for training mental performance consultants and remains the industry’s benchmark today.

Beyond coaching, Dr. Cohn is a prolific author and speaker. He has written more than 20 publications, including The Confident Athlete and Confident Sports Kid series. His insights have been featured on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, USA Today, Yahoo Sports, Men’s Health, and the Versus Network. His work also appears in Golf Magazine, PGATour.com, and Golf Digest.

As a Certified Mental Performance Coach, he has served as a commentator for The Golf Channel. He continues to speak nationally on mental toughness, confidence-building, and peak performance.
